Horrendous experience with Megaworld from purchase until 10 years later
Megaworld is not transparent and engages with very corrupt practices to take advantage of the customers who buy units from them. From exorbitant service fees, issues regarding the availability of purchasing parking slots, and lackluster turnover of units (we were expecting a one bedroom apartment but were provided a studio unit with wall divider) -- it is not worth wasting your hardearned money investing in them.
After your unit has been turned over, you still end up being sucked into Megaworld's corrupt and unnacceptable practices because they turnover the building to their own sister property management company (which is actually a subsidiary of Megaworld). The seats in the board of trustees will then be filled with executives from property management instead of unit owners and they will make decisions based on whatever benefits Megaworld the most. They also downplay all issues like improper industrial rate water dues, gravely incorrect declarations of property registered in the local government, and will penalize you with monetary penalties and cutting off your water supply for bringing forward these issues rather than resolve them.
Overall, the worst investment I have ever made in my life and I would not recommend investing in this company to anyone. Absolutelty horrendous experience!Invest in

Verified Reviewer | Makati City, National Capital RegionI got the unit in One Uptown Residence for 11M brand new with problems in aircondition, leaking ceilings, leaking water heater, exhaust not functioning. the design of the compressor is under the bed.
I had a long way acquiring this unit.
In the beginning all I want is to be able to get one unit in One Uptown Residence specially.
I really believed that Megaworld is the best developer! Just seeing the architectural design and the building made me believe that no other developer can come close.
I've heard so much negative feedback about Megaworld, and was told that have so much problems, but that didn't stop me.But you also know that after the unit was finally turned over in July 15, 2019 I wanted to CANCEL. It's because of the stress regarding the problem with association dues that was imposed upon me.
Then in August 2019 the WATER HEATER was leaking not drops but was *** water.
Another problem was the EXHAUST in the kitchen. Every time someone will cook from the other units you can smell, it was terrible. The exhaust is not working, because the contractor hasn't turned it over yet. But we are paying monthly dues.
And now the AIRCON!It's sad, because the fact that the compressor is under the bed, the heat doesn't dissipate from the condenser perfectly, it was just moving around. Not enough ventilation the louvers is not enough for the hot air to come out that's why it will burn the fan motor.
Also did they ever thought of when needing repairs, they have to bother going inside the unit!
What a design, whoever designed that is only thinking of how the building would look nice but not practical because it's going to create so much problems!
The condenser, compressor must be placed outside in an open air supposedly.
The sad thing is, the technician said they don't have the motor fan to replace but still need to asked admin about it.
I'm aware of the many units in One Uptown Residence that are having problems with their aircon and leaking ceiling. I've talked to many unit owners and said there's so much problems.
But how would I know all of these problems, no one brought it up to my attention before the purchase of the unit. I wasn't even told about the aircon compressor was under the bed. Even just a month right after the turnover I'm already asking for a cancellation of the purchase because of so much problems just within the month of turnover.
Would you pay 11M for a condo that comes with problems and stress? The reason you want a brand new condo is to avoid hassles and stress right?
FYI One Uptown Residence is going to be a maintenance issue! And the sad thing is it takes forever for them to fix the problems because of lack of maintenance people in the engineering department.
That's why I have all the reasons to CANCEL. I just want my downpayment back because I don't deserve all this PROBLEMS and STRESSED.

Scammed
Megaworld is a total fraud. After almost two yers we still have not received a copy of our contract.
Our newly built condo in Uptown Ritz had three water leaks in the first month.
They have violated building code, laying all pipes at a flat level and connecting the condo drains with rain water drains resulting in leaks during heavy rains.
They keep fire exit locked in the parking garage.
They refuse to take responsibility for any of the costs incurred due to poor building standards.
Worst of all, the units delivered in Uptown Ritz are miles away from the units people paid for.
They are practicing false marketing along with bad construction.
There is nothing good to say about Megaworld. They are even known for not paying their agents their commission and staff turn over is huge.
The only thing they are really good at is taking your money.
Meanwhile we have sued them and its pending, but according to others who have tried, even if you win against them they will appeal and it will just be pending forever. You will never see your money again.
I hope Duterte will investigate them and I wish all of the people they scammed will get their money back.

POOR MANAGEMENT AND CUSTOMER SERVICE
I have been living in our BOUGHT condo unit in SARASOTA NEWPORT pasay for 7 years now and we have had a lot of issues with the inside facilities and the people managing NEWPORT CITY condominiums.
1st, the leaking of water on top of our air condition which they have been told about for years and did not do anything about it until our air condition broke down because of this.
2nd, ever since quarantine started, they did not NOTIFY all RESIDENTS of the new rules in which we all have to register all paying persons of the unit to the administration
which resulted to my friend not able to stay in his OWN condo because we were not aware of this SUDDEN "implemented" rules
3rd, they do not accept any deliveries for even for a few minutes and can not give any valid reason for this so called "rule" again.
They should be more understanding and considerate of their PAYING residents especially during these trying days.
They should have anticipated a few more deliveries for the residents due to this quarantine period since we are encouraged to place orders online.
To sum up this complaint, PLEASE BELIEVE ALL COMPLAINTS ABOUT MEGAWORLD OR NEWPORT CITY CONDOMINIUMS. They are all true and first hand experiences.
These are all poorly managed and i hate to see more people wasting their money on them. Instead of investing to a better company

We had this at Cambridge Village, 14 years stuck with their law breaking property management, We just had a fire at one of the towers, finding out that fire alarm had been turned, off, smoke detector and sprinkler system did not work, and fire hoses could not be used as water supply had been drained! And the Board of our condominium corporation after 14 years are non-elected representatives of Megaworld. Never ever buy a condo from Megaworld and its law breaking offspring.

I am going through a horrible experience dealing with incompetent and unresponsive corporate people. After failing to provide updates and failing to deliver the unit even past its grace period, we still do not know when it will be turned over. They told us that they will start this month on lower floor but when we went to the building we were not even allowed to enter and there was certainly no signs that a turm over was about to happen. Until now, we have no resolution except for them billing and charging penalties on the month I stopped payment for their lack of communication.
I approached them with a proposed solution back in March, we went to the Philippines in May and met with Customer Relations in person. Weeks had gone by with no responses on my follow-up for an update.
Nada. Until the other day, the day when we left the Philippines which they were aware on when we were supposed to leave the Philippines.
Megaworld and its sister companies should be bound to law under PD957, with completion of units, bound to a License to Sell issued by the DHSUD, and not their contract conditions. Instead of being bound then to conditions of a License to Sell, they ignore law, and set construction schedules of their own making, seeing delays in turnover.
I would check with DHSUD on the License to Sell and establish when your unit should be completed. It may be there is no License to Sell!
This is true, beware buying pre-selling condos when whithout checking DHSUD first if the developer has property license to sell
100% correct in your statement. The problem is that Megaworld Corporation is protected by the government.
